First Aid Training Courses
All of our First Aid qualifications are delivered as part of the Qualsafe Awards syllabus. Upon completion, each successful candidate will receive the awarding body certificate and a reminder card stating the date of their qualification with details for their subsequent refresher training.
In addition to First Aid training, we offer a wide range of Driver CPC training courses, Education courses and Mental Health First Aid courses.
Within this one-day first aid session we look at basic lifesaving first aid as an introduction to first aid and a stepping stone to the more in depth 3 day First Aid at Work session.
You will be taken through the basics of first aid, recognition of signs and symptoms of life-threatening illness, how to carry out CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator), treatment of burns, bleeding and shock, dealing with choking in both adults and children, recognising when to use the recovery position and much more.
To gain this valuable level 3 qualification you must carry out both physical and theoretical tasks by demonstration and multiple-choice exam.
The qualification is valid for 3 years and refresher sessions are recommended every 12 months after the initial qualification.

This 3 day nationally recognised qualification gives an in depth view of First Aid at Work for all appointed persons in the workplace and also people wishing to give First Aid on a community or voluntarily basis.
Over a 3 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.

Requalification is every three years and the guidance from HSE states that refresher training should be undertaken every 12 months.
This qualification is gained by completion of practical and multiple choice question paper.

The HSE guidelines advise that first aiders should refresh their skills every 12 months, with that in mind we offer this half day session which will enable you to keep your skills and knowledge up to date and refreshed.
Within this half day session we will refresh you on the practical elements of CPR and the safe use of an AED, how to deal with an unconscious casualty, dealing with choking casualties and an optional element of dealing with catastrophic bleeds.
In addition to the above, we will also look at refreshing your knowledge of scene survey, the signs and symptoms of seizure and much more.

The two-day requalification session is designed for first aiders who have taken the three-day First Aid at Work course, which is 16 GLH (guided learning hours) as opposed to 12 GLH for the two-day requalification.
You should aim to take this course within one month of the expiry date of your three days First Aid at Work qualification, otherwise, you would have to attend the three-day session again to remain qualified.
This session is fast-paced on the assumption that learners are familiar with the topics included and, have a base knowledge of the topics already taught in the three-day session.
Requalification is three years from the date of attainment.
